Over the years, I have helped a variety of businesses and organizations with brochures, articles, Web sites, and other marketing/communications projects. I excel at crafting content that clearly conveys your marketing message, captures the attention of your target audience, leaves a positive impression and builds loyalty.
Before founding Portico Communications, I spent nine years working as a newspaper journalist in Texas and Europe, covering everything from school desegregation and murders to protests and local business trends. I also worked at the international management consulting firm, Bain & Co, and did my college internship at CNN.
My freelance work has appeared in such publications as Newsweek, The New York Times, The Prague Post, Texas Co-op Power magazine, The Dallas Morning News, The Denver Post, the Rocky Mountain News, The Salt Lake Tribune, The Atlanta Journal- Constitution, the Austin American-Statesman, The Austin Business Journal, The Moscow News and the Report on Business Magazine of The Globe and Mail in Canada. Earlier work involved contributions to two books by the Dallas Chamber of Commerce: “HealthCare Dallas/Fort Worth” and “The Greater Dallas Business and Industry Journal.”
My writing career has introduced me to a variety of business leaders, many with fantastic ideas who simply needed a little help presenting them. So began my idea to start Portico.
Some people ask about its name. As you know, a portico is a covered entrance often supported by pillars and leading to a larger structure. Likewise, Portico's pillars of writing excellence support the businesses and organizations it serves. The image Portico helps them to project functions as their grand entrance and makes that critical first impression. I hope you will see the advantages Portico can bring to you with the professionalism and quality you deserve. |
